What's in a Name? || Nicknames!

Happy Monday!
Are you enjoying Spring-ish weather where you art?? Or are you still shoveling through the lovely-white snow of Winter?  Dunno 'bout you, but my day here was so sunny & GORGEOUS.  So looking forward to Spring!

It's another Nickname edition, y'all!!!  I love these! But as I was rather late in preparing this post, there's only a featured four present today.  But I do think you'll like them.  :]

Enjoy!

Mak
Makoa
M | Hawaiian

From the Hawaiian word meaning "fearless, courageous, aggressive."

Penny
Penelope
F | Greek Mythology, English

Possibly derived from the Greek penelops, a type of duck---which, in turn, could come from the elements pene "threads, waft" and ops "face, eye."  In Homer's Odyssey, this was the given name of the wife of Odysseus.

Theo
Theodore
English

From the Greek name Theodoros, meaning "gift of God."

Via
Violaine
French

A variant of Violante, ultimately a derivative of the Latin viola meaning "violet."

To each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass, and a book of rules,
And each must make, ere life is flown,
A stumbling block or a stepping stone.
