What's in a Name?

Welcome, dear beans!
I've a new set of names!  Strangely, with the exception of one, they are derived from surnames.

Hope you've had a lovely Monday.  :]

Enjoy!

Alder
M | English

From a surname, of Anglo-Saxon origin and derived from either the given name Aethelhere, meaning "noble army," or Ealdhere meaning "old army," or from the alder tree.

Seren
M & F | English (rare), Bosnian?

Possibly a variant of Bosnian given name ล aran, meaning unknown---possibly "star."

Barrick
M | English, German

From the surname, which is a variation of Barwick, possibly derived from elements bere "barley" and wic "outlying farm."  Could possibly be a habitational name of several places in England & Germany (Norfolk, Somerset, & West Yorkshire; Berwick, near Soest, Westphalia).

Wynn
F | Welsh, English

From the surname (also spelled as Winn or Gwynn), and derived from Welsh element Gwynn, loosely translated "white" or "fair."

Favorite, dearies??  I really like them all! But Barrick & Seren stand out to me. :]
I dunno about you but I enjoy finding faces that seem to fit names for these posts.  Tell me, do you imagine differently?  Different hair color? Eyes? Face shape?

  2. Oh my goodness, I don't know how you do it. I love all these names so, so much. Especially Seren! *all the heart eyes* I feel like that'd be good for a girl OR boy. Alder is also absolutely epic.

Also, I looove the pics you choose each time. I always find them fitting! And they inspire me just as much as the names. :D

To each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass, and a book of rules,
And each must make, ere life is flown,
A stumbling block or a stepping stone.
