Encouragement

A + A Friday!

AWKWARD
  • When your sister is playing a game on your iPhone whilst sticking it in the cat's uninterested face. You ask her what she's doing and she says, "I'm trying to play the game with her!" And this from a 21-year-old. xD
  • Playing late night card games, PIT in particular, and you win THREE times in a row.  THREE times! (You would think this would be in the "awesome" section, but. . .) By the next round, you are wishing you don't win, simply because you feel terrible for your other companions.
  • Awkward silences:

  • Attempting to make an awesome origami dragon.  And failing miserably.  (Hence, no picture.) ;D
  • Wearing sunglasses for the 30 minute drive to work, and taking them off to find indents on the bridge of your nose.  -_-  *le sigh*
  • When a sister calls the Phillips screwdriver a "star-head screwdriver." xD  It makes sense, but you know, it's a Phillips!
  • And this GIF, so true, I'm afraid. . .  But I'm not the only one, right?  . . . Right?? :D

AWESOME
  • Movie night with friends and family to watch BIG HERO 6!!! 17 people total, all piled on pillows and couches. :]

  • Starting to read Resistance, by Jaye L. Knight, Book 1 of the Ilyon Chronicles.  Immediately hooked after two pages.
  • Perfect snowy weather for sledding and snowball fights; then getting a challenge to build the best snowman from a friend.  My sister Jen and I came up with this one:

  • My awesome manager lady. :] Who doesn't make me go into work when a blizzard is brewing.
  • This quote: ". . .He is indeed Enough.  He is not all we would ask for (if we were honest), but it is precisely when we do not have what we would ask for, and only then, that we can clearly perceive His all-sufficiency.  It is when the sea is moonless that the Lord has become my Light." [Elisabeth Elliot]
  • Buying two books for only $1.53!! Together! (LifeWay has a bargain $1 table right now, and I couldn't resist.  One of them ended up being $0.39!)

Thanks for reading, dearies. :]  Happy weekend!

  1. So much to comment on in this post. xD
First of all, did you enjoy Big Hero 6? I though the character development was amazing, especially through Hiro. I think it might be my favorite animated movie of all time...
And RESISTANCE! *big squeal* That book is my favorite. I love it so much. And the second one is just as amazing. :D
Your snowman. It. Is. Perfection. It totally reminds me of Calvin and his snowman creations in the Calvin and Hobbes comics. He was always so inventive in his snowman making.
And before I finish this comment, I really love the A + A Fridays. They make me laugh a lot. :D

  3. Katie Grace: Did I enjoy Big Hero 6? O_O YES!!! It has to be a top favorite right now. SO. GOOD. xD And Resistance. Oh my. Still loving it. Can't wait to finish and get my hands on the second! Regarding the snowman, my sister and I had great fun sculpting him. We were totally inspired by Calvin and Hobbes! I love all of his snowy inventions. :D And I'm so glad to hear you like these posts. So do I! Such fun to post them and I love knowing they make my readers laugh. :]

Hannah Mary: Thanks, dearie! :] And yes! BH6 is beyond awesome--it's BE-AWESOME!! ;D

I thank you for the comments, ladies! I sure love hearing from you all. Made my day! <3

  4. Hi! This is an awesome idea to post awkward and awesome stuff :) Movie night with tons of people sounds awesome! I have 7 younger siblings and we all watched a movie together last night, it was tons of fun (except that netflix kept having to load -_-)

  5. Hahaha!!! Love the polar bear, snowman, Jenny's facial expression and the Mr. Collins pin! Big Hero 6! Dad just watched it for the first time last night and loved it! Yay for good managers!!! Mom called Lifeway yesterday about a new Chuck Black book and you were the one who answered! Haha! She said you have excellent customer service!

  6. That snowman!!! <3 I love his tongue! I stink at making snowmen/sandcastles. My artistic building skills are sorely lacking. ;)

  7. I often feel the same way when I win a lot...I guess I'm too kind, or not competitive. XD

That polar bear. *shakes head amusedly*

Love your snowman! It even has its tongue sticking out.

BIG HERO 6. I just watched it for the first time! Ahh, so good! I LOVED every bit of it.

  8. Eliza Noel: Yes, isn't it? It's a great way to remember the fun and goofy things of the past week. And I love making people smile. :] Wow! Having so many siblings must make for awesome/definitely-not-boring movie nights! Sorry to hear about slow Netflix connection. We don't have it, but I can relate sometimes to slow internet!

Morgan: BIG HERO 6. Yes! xD And what?? No way!! I remember that call distinctly, because I had just discovered that book a couple weeks before and was so very intrigued. I can't believe your ma didn't say anything! Haha! That's too funny. Thanks!

Proverbs31Teen: My sister sculpted his mouth and I laughed out loud when I saw she added his tongue! It was perfect. Aww, sorry to hear about your absent artistic skills ;D

Tracey: Haha! Yes, totally understand. I used to be pretty competitive, but I've changed a bit since those days. :D And yes, yes, yes! I can't get enough of Big Hero 6!

    Thanks for the comments, dearies!

To each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass, and a book of rules,
And each must make, ere life is flown,
A stumbling block or a stepping stone.
