Meaning & History
From an English surname, originally taken from various place names, which are possibly derived from a Celtic word meaning "high."



Sarai
Gender:  Feminine
Usage:  Biblical, Biblical Hebrew
Pronunciation:  SER-ie (English)

Meaning & History
Means "my princess" in Hebrew.  In the Old Testament, this was Sarah's name before God changed it, as recorded in Genesis 17:5.
