Avengers: Endgame releases this weekend!!!
(Technically, this evening, actually)
I can't believe it's finally here! Are you watching it on opening night? Or are you waiting for the initial hype to pass so there's no fear of a crowded theater?
My family & I are going this Saturday afternoon. *cue squeals & alternate sobbing* I am simultaneously excited & anxious to see what the entire three hours hold. If you're going to see it ASAP, DON'T SHARE ANY SPOILERS!!!

MY ANSWERS
1. How were you introduced to the MCU fandom?
Honestly, I don't quite remember. But the Iron Man films were the first I ever saw. (Technically, The Incredible Hulk (2008) is supposed to be included in the universe, but it doesn't count, in my opinion)
OBVIOUSLY, I was hooked from the start. While I didn't care for Tony's play boy/super-ego personality, I loved how the first film expanded on his character. He's still incredibly flawed & selfish, but aren't we all? Still, he came to see exactly what was important---not just the act of saving himself, but of all the innocents he had the power to help.
Then, after Iron Man 2 & the first Thor film came the first ever Captain America movie!! *swoons* I was definitely a goner---a squealing fangirl of all things Marvel.

2. What's your favorite Marvel film?
CAPTAIN AMERICA: The First Avenger & CAPTAIN AMERICA: The Winter Soldier. HANDS DOWN, THOSE ARE THE BESSSSSSSSSST.
3. Top favorite Marvel character?
CAPTAIN AMERICAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Surprised?? Haha. I LOVE Steve Rogers & his character. From the start, he is portrayed as a selfless patriot, who wishes with all his heart to serve his country & make a difference. He has his flaws, of course! He's not perfect (pretty close, but yeah). But he never gives up despite a rap sheet of health issues. And even after he comes through the successful experiment as the first super soldier, HIS CHARACTER NEVER CHANGES. He still wishes to serve his country & people, and he was then gifted with more than the ability to do so. I just---how can one NOT like him??
4. If you were transported into the MCU and had to trade places with one of the superheroes, who would you choose?
Hmmmm. This is a difficult question for some reason. . . Honestly, I wouldn't want to trade places with anyone. I'd want to simply be transported there so I could meet & watch all of them in action. Still, I suppose if I HAD to trade with anyone, it'd be Hawkeye. I love that he's a family man first & foremost & he's got some amazing skill with the bow. And we can't forget the AWESOME, interchangeable arrows, right??

5. What are some of your favorite quotes from the films?
source |
"I'm with you 'til the end of the line."- Captain America, The Winter Soldier
"I understood that reference!"- Captain America, Avengers
"I still believe in heroes."- Nick Fury, Avengers
Not that big a fan of the Guardians, but I CRACKED UP at this. xD |
"Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are too fast, I would catch it."- Drax, Guardians of the Galaxy
Haha! Loved this scene with Dr Strange, Thor, & Loki. |
"I am burdened with glorious purpose."- Loki, Thor
6. Which crew would you want to be part of the most: Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Revengers?
The Avengers!
No question. The Guardians are a bit too crude & vulgar for my taste (their movies are not at the top of my faves. . . I know, I know---don't hate me!). They had fun humor, but I would take the Avenger movies over the Guardians any day. (And I'd totally follow Captain America to the "end of the line.")

7. Favorite and least favorite ship?
>> FAVE <<
Peggy & Steve. TT_TT I cried---CRIED---at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger.source |
Still hurts! *sobs* But I'm okay. I enjoyed the Agent Carter series as it gave me a whole show of just Peggy---she's so classy & AWESOME. She proves you can be feminine AND stand for what you believe it---all while looking elegantly fantastic to boot.
source |
>> LEAST FAVE <<
Sharon Carter & Steve Rogers. Just doesn't quite fit. . . Sorry. And Thor & Jane, never really cared for her (but could be because of the actress---she's always annoyed me in everything I've seen her in, for some reason. . .).
8. Favorite and least favorite villain?
>> FAVE <<
Gah. I dunno. I don't really have a favorite. . . Probably Ultron. He was rather interesting. . . And I think I'll have to add Hela, as well. She was quite a formidable enemy (plus the actress is AMAZING).
>> LEAST FAVE <<
THANOS. For sure. He made an AWESOME villain, but I LOOOOOOOOAAAAAATHE him. *hisses*
> > > > > < < < < <
HA. Had to put that in there. |
9. Unpopular MCU opinion?
As I'm going through these questions, I'm gradually realizing I need a total MARVEL-ATHON. . . There's so many little things I don't recall enough to answer and I've had to look things up, heheh.
On this question, though, I'll have to agree with Christine: I liked the Age of Ultron film. It showed that even the best heroes, no matter how good their intentions, can fail---and fail HARD. I kinda thought the Natasha/Bruce romance was altogether random, but seeing the more human side of her was refreshing. Our heroes are certainly not perfect, and it is foolish to revere them as so.
I suppose one of the highlights of this film (in my opinion) was meeting Hawkeye's family when the Avengers were forced into hiding. I loved seeing his homestead, the farm being an oasis of refuge from the world---albeit temporary.

Also, technically, THESE guys are a teensy part of the Marvel universe as well, though many may not know it. . .

Okay. If you made it this far, congrats! I'm done!! Are you a Marvel fan? Are you going to see Endgame this weekend? *internal screaming*
Thank you, Christine, for creating this tag! I had SO much fun revisiting the films.
AMEN to all of this! Captain America is just an amazing character. #TeamCap
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree, Age of Ultron is so underrated! Was it as good as the first? No. But was it still good? YEAH YOU BET IT WAS. (Still bitter over Quicksilver, though..... XD)
Great post! I’m seeing it Saturday and I CAN'T WAIT!! I hope you enjoy it!
YESSSSSSS #TeamCap
DeleteDitto---to everything you said! It was still good. And I agree about Quicksilver TT_TT He was pretty cool & needed to be in more films!
Us toooooooo! I hope you do as well! Don't forget tissues & popcorn ;D
YOU DID THE TAG!!!!! YAY! I clicked on this so fast and just devoured the post. I LOVED ALL OF THIS!
ReplyDeleteYessss to Captain America! Ugh. I just love him so much! <3333
I loved your answer to #4! Hawkeye is so fantastic, and seriously does not get as much love as he deserves. I'm SO excited he's going to be in Endgame!
Yes to ALL those quotes! ALL OF THEM. I can't believe I forgot some of those! I could have made like 5 pages worth of my favorite quotes if I had let myself. There's just too many good ones!
I CRIED OVER PEGGY AND STEVE TOO. In fact, I still cry at the end of the first Captain America movie. Every time. It's just too painful! D':
Shamefully, I've never seen Agent Carter. I've GOT to get around to watching that show! Because, well, PEGGY. <333
Oh my goodness, the library Stan Lee cameo! :O Okay, so I KNEW there was one of him in a library with a big fight scene going on behind him, but I could not remember for the life of me what movie that was from. So it's from one of the older Spider-Man movies? That's probably why I couldn't remember it. But YES. That was great! XD
So glad you did the tag! I absolutely loved all of this!
Awww, thank you, Lauri! This was SO MUCH FUN. There was SO MUCH I could have added, I kept thinking, "no. NO. That's plenty---it's getting too long!"
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about Hawkeye. He & Cap are just genuine characters, ya know? They seem to be such GOOD, selfless men. Me too! Can't wait to see more of him---I feel like it's been AGES.
I KNOOOOOOOOW. I could've gone on & on. I could've copied ALL of yours as well! but I was trying to think (thank you, Google) of other lesser-known ones that I loved as well. Such great, memorable lines!
I'm right there with you. No matter how many times I've seen it, it still gets me EVERY TIME. No worries! It's like any show, some episodes are way better than others, some REALLY WEIRDDD, but I loved Peggy the whole way through. She's so darn classy. Also, Sousa, Mr Jarvis, and Jack Thompson are great secondary characters!! If you can, DO watch. At least once. <3
Ha! Yes! It's actually from The Amazing Spiderman with Andrew Garfield (shoulda put that on there...), which contrary to some opinions, I did like---of course, I definitely agree that Tom Holland's character fits the BEST, but I enjoyed the Garfield movies as well.
ThankyouthankyouTHANKYOU! This was such fun, I greatly enjoyed revisiting this fandom. It was the perfect refresher before the big show. :D
love this post! i did this tag the other day, bc it's so perfect with Endgame coming out. i saw Endgame yesterday (don't worry #nospoilers ;), and wow. just wow. can't wait to hear what you think of it!
ReplyDelete#TEAMCAP yesssss. also, my favorite Marvel film is "The Winter Soldier" too! Bucky is hands-down my favorite character, but Steve is a very close second. <3 <3
<3 <3
Ahhh! You did the tag too!?? I've gotta go check it out (sorry, I missed it! I'm so behind in reading the blogs I follow...) I think I'll have to do a post or something on what I thought of the movie---waiting a couple weeks at least, to give peeps time to see it. I don't wanna spoil anything for anyone!!
DeleteYESSSSSS. Yes! Bucky is <3. But I gotta say Steve is my #1. ;D
TEAMCAP FOR LIFE!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the quotes you chose :) And the memes, those are hilarious :)
I'll be joining this bandwagon soon :) Just got to get through a few things, LOL.
YESSSSSSSS!!! PREACH, GIRL <333
DeleteThank you! There's SO MANY---I had to stop somewhere, but honestly I could've totally kept going. xD
YAYAYAYAYAY!!! I'm most definitely watching for your post---this one was so much FUN. :D
LOVE Captain America. ♥
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Peggy and Steve are the cutest. I loved the Agent Carter TV show (and the one-shot short film!), and totally wish I could have Peggy's wardrobe. SO STYLISH.
Ooh, yes. Ultron and Hela were really cool villains. And that Elves meme. *cackles* Love it.
BIG HERO 6! That's one of my favorites. So cute and full of heart and emotions and I totally wanted more of it.
*FIST BUMP* Balalala. ;D
DeleteThey seriously are. Yayayay! Another Carter fan! Not many people seem to watched the show---so nice to find a fellow admirer. And YESSSSSS. I LOVE her fashion. She can do anything, but yet she's still so feminine & compassionate.
AGREED. xD
Yesyesyesyesyes. I need more Big Hero 6!!!!!
