Welcome, friend! Relax & rest awhile, if you please. I am an ordinary gal, a follower of Christ, mama to Gabriel, Heidi, & Aidan; and wife to Evan. Here on this little blog, I share all manner of bookish things, including full content reviews, writerly snippets, encouragement for everyday life, and a whole collection of names & their meanings.

Encouragement

Welcome, September! (Already??)

Pinterest
Hello, and welcome to my blog!  If this is your first visit, I hope it won't be your last!

What is Sarah, Plain & Average?
If I could describe my desire for this little blog, it would be to serve as an encouragement to girls and young ladies of all ages -- be that in inspirational posts and mini devotions or open-hearted articles of faith and struggles.

I want to share new and amazing books that I've discovered through my [rather] thorough book reviews and spotlights.

And I wish to share my journey as an aspiring writer with tips, writing prompts, and fun and/or intriguing snippets from my own works-in-progress.

With all that said, here's a question:
What do you, as a blog reader, enjoy reading the most?
  1. Every day happenings in the blogger(s)'s life?  Posts about their job(s), family, etc?
  2. Writing Tips & Exercises?
  3. Character spotlights, and/or posts featuring anything to do with the blogger(s)'s current WIP?
  4. Snippets?
  5. Story prompts?
  6. Book reviews?
Are you more prone to skip posts that seem unbelievably long? (Yes, we are all guilty of doing that!)  Honestly, what do you think?

--------------------------------------

Also, on a super-happy note, we have internet in our home! (Ahhh! We're doomed! It's not a necessity, is it? IS IT??)  Ahem.  But anyways, this means I will be able to post more regularly.  Yay!  No more going to the library or Dunkin to mooch off of free wifi!  :]

And nextly, it's SEPTEMBER??

Have a great week, y'all.
Sarah

  4. Hello, September! You're almost GONE! Which only means October is near, so I suppose I'm glad. But my, time does fly.
My two cents: I like all of these posts. :) The more the merrier. If I had to rate them by favorite content, it'd be
    1. Everday happenings
    3. WIP stuff
    2. Writing tips
    4. Snippets
    6. Book reviews
    5. Story prompts
I'd also add to my list your inspirational posts and name posts. :) I'd love to maybe hear some of your recipes or homemaker projects too sometimes! And I never skip posts or even parts of posts (commenting however...hahaha), so be as wordy as you'd like as far as I'm concerned.
Hope that's somewhat helpful to you.

  5. Jomylan: Thanks for your input! :] So glad to hear.

Christine: Aww, dear Lauri! You're so sweet! Believe it or not, that helps. I love knowing what my readers like to see. That helps keep me motivated and definitely helps in what I write.

Risa: Yes! This year has FLOWN. I can't believe it :O Thank you for sharing your opinion, dear Risa! I've thought (but not too hard) of sharing some new projects I've started for the house, or even from my shop - great idea! Awww, thanks *^ - ^*

To each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass, and a book of rules,
And each must make, ere life is flown,
A stumbling block or a stepping stone.
