About Me

About me. . .

E + S  |  10.8.16

Why is it so difficult to describe one's self?

For starters, my name is Sarah, though I have many names and hats that I occasionally wear.  (You could say I'm a lass of all trades, mistress of none. . . ;D ha!)

Why the Plain & Average name, you may ask?  Welllllll. . . I am a quiet sort of person, until you get to know me. . . :]  I stand 5'5" barefoot, so I'm not really tall but not really short either, hence average.  If asked to describe myself, I would blank out and stammer something unintelligible and redden considerably in the facial area.  But eventually I would manage something along the lines of:  I consider myself rather plain, although I enjoy bright colors, glitter, and sprinkles.  I am somewhat of a bookdragon, a complete movie freak, an aspiring author, poet (with three published poems!), and hobby-photographer.  A good book, a hot cup of tea, and a cozy chair by the fire complete my version of a perfect day.  I enjoy reading, writing, and drawing.  Ballet is another of my passions, though I no longer take part.
On October the 8th of 2016, I married my best friend, Evan, and we celebrated the best day EVER with our family and friends.  He tells me I'm BEAUTIFUL, especially on the days I DON'T feel like it.  I see and hear my heavenly King in his actions, his words, and his eyes.  He's my Mr Darcy - without a doubt! (Seriously, he reminds me of Lizzie's man. . . and one of his nicknames for me is "Lizzie."  Coincidence?? I think not!)  ;D  My days are spent as a homemaker and wife and I couldn't be happier!  My God is so good.

    So, there you have it.
An average girl wishing to share a page (or two) of her everyday, average life with you.

Blessings!
Or in the words of one of my original languages,

"Dahti bwe'uom!"  God be with you!

Was there any other job you'd wanted to do?
Also, may I ask who designed the girl in the top left corner of your blog? The artwork is beautiful!

  6. Oh, thank you! Do you mean published, as having "published" poems on a poetry website? I have yet to finish a story project... *coughs*

Thanks for commenting! As to the girl illustration, Anna of Hero, who designed my blog found it on Pinterest. I love it, too! Here's a link: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/25051341650668776/ (I can't take any credit) :]

  8. Yes, though it's been years! That's where my blog title came from. :] Since I stand 5'5", I'm not exactly tall, but average, hence the name. ;D

  12. Hi Sarah Elizabeth!

I like your blog title. It's unusual and fun. (And from that picture, I don't think you're plain.)

I'm a huge bookworm, movie/drama geek and writer, too. Nice to meet you! It's always fun to meet people who share your interests.

I'm curious... does your pen name have anything to do with Louis L'Amour's Sackett series?

I'm a couple years older than you, so another 90's girl. *hi five*

I look forward to reading your blog more!

  13. Well, a big hulloa to you too, Miss Melody! :] Thanks for stopping by. And awww, you are too sweet. #^-^# It's a pleasure to meet you as well. I'm looking forward to more of your blog posts! I love finding fellow friendlies who share in the same likes/interests.

And yes, my pen name comes from the great L'Amour's Sackett family. I couldn't resist. They are most probably my favorite group of people ever. :]

Alright! High five, '90s girl! It's a pleasure to meet you!!

To each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass, and a book of rules,
And each must make, ere life is flown,
A stumbling block or a stepping stone.
