What's in a Name?

And how has your Monday been, me lovelies?
Mine has been a rather rainy and sunny and then rainy and sunny again, topped with a loverly rainbow to end the day.  :]  (And we all know the true meaning of rainbows, right??  They are a promise from our Lord God, and to me that's what they always will be.  Let's #takebacktherainbow!)

Random little spiel, that was. O__o  But one I think should be said a bit more often. . .

Howevah, I've got some new names for you!
Do tell me your favorites!

Hagan
M | German
HA-gǝn, HAY-gǝn

Taken from the Germanic element hagan meaning "enclosure." A more popular spelling is Hagen.

Renna
F | English (rare)

Possibly a variant of Rena, which is itself a variant and could be ultimately derived from the Late Latin name Renatus, meaning "born again" in Late Latin.

Eliseo
M | Italian, Spanish
e-lee-ZE-o (Italian), e-lee-SE-o (Spanish)

The Italian and Spanish form of Elisha, meaning "my God is salvation."

Sabella
F | English (rare)
sǝ-BEL-ǝ

The short form of Isabella, ultimately originating from Elizabeth, meaning "my God is an oath" or "my God is abundance."

  3. Ooh, I love these names. They are all so unique and yet not so out there as to be out of place, you know what I mean? Perfect for almost any type of story.

  4. Ivie: Thanks, girlie! I can't take credit for that particular hashtag, though. It comes from Answers in Genesis, home of the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter parks. AMAZING company!!! They actually have a t-shirt with #takebacktherainbow, and I may have to purchase it someday!

Catherine: YES!! Use it! And isn't it lovely? Thanks, dearie!

Nightingale: Thank you, m'dear! I know exactly what you mean. I love finding names like those (as you can tell). :]

To each is given a bag of tools,
A shapeless mass, and a book of rules,
And each must make, ere life is flown,
A stumbling block or a stepping stone.
